Studio/D announces merger with Swell Advertising of St. Louis

Jan. 15, 2016 – Studio/D, a full-service brand communications agency in St. Louis, has merged with Swell Advertising, an award-winning St. Louis creative firm. The combined agency has launched new branding which includes a new identity and website to reflect the firm’s expanded presence in the St. Louis regional advertising and public relations market.

Studio/D was previously known as Studio D Marketing Communications. The agency was started in 2013 by long-time advertising executive Scott Dieckgraefe, and primarily focuses on mid-sized business-to-business clients. Swell Advertising, established in 2004 by Rich Meyer, had a similar client base.

“The two agencies are a good match because of our similar philosophies and approach to client work,” Dieckgraefe said. “We partner with our clients to bring creative marketing solutions that will increase brand awareness and influence buying decisions of targeted audiences.”

Dieckgraefe and Meyer worked together at St. Louis-based Adamson Advertising in the 1990s. Dieckgraefe’s expertise lies in strategy, account management and media planning, while Meyer is a strategist and creative director.

“Rich brings to Studio/D a new level of expertise and creative energy that will benefit our clients and our success as an agency,” Dieckgraefe said. “Our new, combined firm makes us the go-to source for business-to-business marketing in St. Louis. Agencies that used to address this market in St. Louis have faded away in the last decade.”

Meyer says the firm brings “big ad agency experience, but with a lean, more agile environment where clients will find their budgets working harder, going further, and getting better results.”

Studio/D provides strategy development, account planning, advertising, public relations, media and research. The agency has capitalized billings of $4 million. Current clients include: Unico, Inc.; Surgical Direct, Inc.; Cambridge Engineering; Jim Butler Auto Group; KRJ Architects; Frontenac Bank; SIOR Foundation; Saint Louis County Department of Health; Sandberg Phoenix & von Gontard, P.C.; Ohlendorf Appliance Laboratory; and Alligare.

Dieckgraefe is president and managing partner of Studio/D. Meyer is partner and chief creative officer. The agency is located in Olivette. More information is available at
